Actor Mohan Babu booked for allegedly assaulting a journalist at his residence in Jalapalli

For allegedly attacking a journalist at his home in Jalpalli, Rangareddy district, on the evening of December 10, 2024, veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu has been charged.

The journalist and other journalists were reporting the continuing conflict between the actor and his son, actor Manchu Manoj, when the event happened at around 7:50 p.m.

Following the claimed attack, the reporter filed a formal complaint at 10:55 p.m. the same day, according to the police FIR. Sub-Inspector of Police B. Dayakar Reddy of the Pahadishareef Police Station recorded the statement.

Earlier in the evening of December 10, the journalist had to Mohan Babu’s home as part of his reporting on the family conflict that has garnered a lot of media attention.

The complainant said that around 8:05 p.m., Manchu Manoj welcomed him and other reporters into the residence. The goal was to hide the fact that the father-son conflict was still getting worse. 0However, Mohan Babu is accused of aggressively confronting the journalist throughout their reportage.

The actor is accused of physically assaulting the journalist with the microphone, which purportedly had a metal logo and a steel pipe, after forcefully snatching the reporter’s mobile phone and microphone and using derogatory language. According to reports, the journalist suffered a serious head injury from the attack that resulted in substantial bleeding.

According to the complainant, there was no provocation for the claimed assault. The journalist was brought to Trident Hospital in Shamshabad right away after the alleged attack, where he was treated for his wounds.

The journalist called on actor Mohan Babu to face the proper legal procedure in his comments. The police filed a case in response to the complaint, and V. Laxmaiah, SIP, has been given the task of conducting the investigation.
