Chris Evans will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for the much awaited “Avengers: Doomsday” after a short absence.

Evans’ precise position is yet unknown, but according to Deadline, Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson will also reprise his role as Captain America, carrying on the legendary legacy.

Although it is said that Evans would not play Captain America again directly, he might still return as Steve Rogers, the role he so memorably played for over ten years in the MCU.

In ‘Avengers: Endgame’ (2019), Evans made his last appearance as Steve Rogers, bringing the character’s plot to a touching and valiant conclusion.

Fans, however, are speculating about his possible comeback in light of recent events. Earlier this year, Evans also made a brief appearance in “Deadpool & Wolverine,” reprising his previous Marvel character as Johnny Storm from the 2000s “Fantastic Four” movies.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will include a number of beloved MCU characters, many of whom were original Avengers, as was previously reported.

Robert Downey Jr. will also make a comeback to the series, although in a totally new capacity as Dr. Doom, the legendary Marvel villain.

Known for their efforts on “Avengers: Infinity War,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” and “Captain America: Civil War,” the Russo Brothers will provide their own narrative flair to “Avengers: Doomsday.”

The new ‘Fantastic Four’ cast members, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Vanessa Kirby, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who will accompany the Avengers on this multi-universe journey, are anticipated to be among the ensemble cast members in the movie.

A thrilling future for the MCU is promised as it continues to explore new realms and crossovers between characters and worlds with the release of “Avengers: Doomsday” on May 1, 2026, and “Avengers: Secret Wars” in May 2027.
