Jammu and Kashmir: A soldier martyred in a mine explosion during patrolling in Poonch district
Poonch: According to authorities, a soldier was killed in a mine explosion Monday while on patrol in the Poonch area of Jammu and Kashmir. Havaldar V Subbaiah Varikunta of the 25 Rashtriya Rifles was honored by the Army.
The fallen soldier, who was a member of an area domination patrol (team) in the Poonch district’s Thandar Tekri sector, was honored by the White Knight Corps’ General Officer Commanding (GOC) and all other levels.
For a post-mortem, Havaldar Varikunta’s lifeless remains were taken to the district hospital.

“We send the family of the deceased our sincerest sympathies. White Knight Corps said, “We stand firmly with them in this time of grief.”
The Indian Army honored the courageous rifleman Jaswinder Singh, who lost his life while doing his duty in Jammu and Kashmir, two days ago and sent their condolences.
The Indian Army tweeted on X, using its official account, “General Upendra Dwivedi, COAS and all ranks of the Indian Army salute the supreme sacrifice of braveheart Rifleman Jaswinder Singh, who laid down his life in the line of duty in Jammu and Kashmir.”
“Indian Army offers its deepest condolences and stands firm with the bereaved family in this hour of grief,” said the message.
The Army’s Chinar Corps also posted a statement expressing their profound sorrow over Rifleman Singh’s tragic and premature death while on active duty.
“Chinar Corps expresses its sorrow over Rfn Jaswinder Singh’s tragic and premature death while on active duty. “The Indian Army is dedicated to supporting the bereaved family during this time of sorrow and stands in solidarity with them,” the tweet said.
