Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated Sarupathar cum District Civil Hospital in Golaghat district

Golaghat: The 100-bed Sarupathar Co-District Civil Hospital in Sarupathar, Golaghat district, was officially opened by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

At a ceremony on Monday at Sarupathar, he also dedicated an oxygen plant constructed using the Numaligarh Refinery’s CSR budget.

Chief Minister Sarma characterized the day as significant for the Sarupathar community, stating that the Rs 15 crore Co-District hospital features nine outpatient departments, an operating room, an emergency ward, a resuscitation room, a special newborn care unit, a medicine and pediatric ward, two labor rooms, and more.

Additionally, the hospital will be able to provide critical treatment during emergencies thanks to the oxygen plant constructed with funding from Numaligarh Refinery Limited’s CSR fund.

He stated that the facility would get a lot more cutting-edge medical services.

But 10,000 additional recipients from the Sarupathar Assembly seat would be added to the list. This would empower a number of women in the co-district,” CM Sarma said.

MLA Biswajit Phukan, MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, and several other dignitaries attended the event.

However, during a celebration conducted in Sarupathar, Chief Minister Sarma laid the foundation for a swimming pool and dedicated an indoor stadium to the people, adding a new dimension to the city’s infrastructure development.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Sarma said that Sarupathar has developed a strong sports environment, which is clearly seen throughout the region.

“The indoor stadium built with a financial outlay of Rs. 2 crore has the provision for two synthetic badminton courts and two table tennis courts,” he said.
He said that the Numaligarh Refinery’s CSR budget will be used to construct the Sarupathar swimming pool, which would cost Rs 75 lakh.

Additionally, Dr. Sarma said that construction is underway on the Lovlina Borgohain sports facility in Sarupathar.
“These infrastructures, once fully completed, will give a sense of encouragement among the young generation, which would also be helpful in producing national and international-level sportspersons in Sarupathar,” remarked Chief Minister Sarma.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also complimented MLA Sarupathar and requested he encourage his people to join the sports movement that Sarupathar had launched.

He said that all of Sarupathar’s athletes, including Lovlina Borgohain and Nayanmani Saikia, have the capacity to develop and thrive.

Additionally, CM Sarma urged parents to take action to foster a love of sports in their children. According to him, doing sports promotes strong, healthy health.

He thus urged the young people to cultivate a love of athletics, as it would support their physical and mental well-being, which will enable them to enlist in the military.

Olympiad Lovlina Borgohain, Commonwealth Medallist Nayanmoni Saikia, international boxer Jamuna Boro, MP Kakakhya Prasad Tasa, MLA Biswajit Phukan, CGM NRL Kajal Saikia, and numerous other dignitaries attended the event.

Afterwards, the rural stadium constructed in Golaghat South Development Block with Rs. 2 million was also opened by Chief Minister Dr. Sarma.
