PTI reaffirms its unwavering commitment to solving political challenges
Peshawar: On Sunday, the leadership of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) reiterated their steadfast commitment to using legal and constitutional means to settle political disputes. According to The Express Tribune, the party’s founder has formed a negotiating committee to help have meaningful conversations with all parties involved, emphasizing PTI‘s desire to have sincere conversations.
National Assembly Opposition Leader Omar Ayub said at a joint news conference that he, Hamid Raza, Asad Qaiser, and Ali Amin Gandapur are among the senior figures on the committee.
Any people or organizations that are interested in having a productive conversation with the party are welcome to accept his invitation. Ayub reaffirmed the PTI’s commitment to using conversation to find peaceful solutions, saying, “If anyone wishes to hold talks, the PTI’s doors are open,” according to The Express Tribune.
Along with Senate Opposition Leader Shibli Faraz, former Speaker Asad Qaiser, and PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas, Ayub also reiterated the party’s stance on the events of November 26. He said that 12 PTI protestors were killed and more than 200 were still unaccounted for in an Islamabad government raid.
He went on to say, “Our workers are being intimidated and forced to declare their injuries as accidental.” Ayub demanded justice for those impacted by the tragedies and denounced these purported acts.
Ayub outlined the PTI’s future plans, warning that if justice is not served for the “martyrs” and if the party’s objectives are not met, there may be a civil disobedience campaign.
Ayub said that a prayer service would be held in Pakistan on December 13 and overseas on December 15 in remembrance of the workers who had died. According to The Express Tribune, these gatherings are meant to honor the sacrifices made by PTI employees.
