Karnataka Cabinet sub-committee today held a meeting to decide action on the report submitted by Justice Michael D’Cunha
On Saturday, the cabinet subcommittee of the Karnataka government met to discuss possible steps regarding the report that Justice Micheal D’Cunha filed on potential anomalies in COVID-19.
HM H Parameshwara, Health Minister Dinesh Gundurao, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, and other participants attended the meeting.
Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar told reporters that authorities had been given permission to act on suggestions.
Michael D’Cunha, the justice, filed a report. We are only examining the actions done in response to this report. In accordance with the law, we have given the officer permission to act on the advice. There are many abnormalities that have been discovered, but we don’t want to witch hunt anything.
According to the Bangalore City Corporation BBMP region, 84 lakh samples have been obtained, and around 24 lakh samples have been taken in Kidwai. This indicates that hundreds of crores have been collected from the government for every crore people. There are no locations where the samples are taken that have been authorized by the ICMR,” he said.
The then-government failed to use the large sum of Rs 447 crore that was allotted for relief efforts and health care during COVID-19, according to Justice Micheal D’Cunha’s report on mismanagement during the period of the Bharatiya Janata Part’s reign.
Additionally, according to the investigation, the previous administration submitted Covid-19 samples to unapproved commercial laboratories, resulting in enormous expenses of up to Rs 6 crore.
In response to Michael D’Cunha’s findings, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was established to take further action.
