Kharge, Rahul recall valour of soldiers on Armed Forces Flag Day, express gratitude for their selfless service

Rahul Gandhi, the party’s leader, and Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, celebrated Armed Forces Flag Day on Saturday by honoring the bravery of the troops and thanking them for their selfless service to the nation.

“The Armed Forces Flag Day is a solemn occasion to pay tributes to the extraordinary courage and indomitable grit of our brave soldiers and express sincere gratitude to their valour and selfless service to our country,” Kharge said in a post to X.

“I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all members of our Armed Forces and their families, wishing them continued success, glory, and happiness in the years to come,” he said.

Rahul Gandhi, the Lok Sabha’s leader of the opposition, commended military personnel for their bravery and tenacity.

On Armed Forces Flag Day, I honor the courageous men and women of the Indian Armed Forces for their enduring bravery and tenacity. “Your endless sacrifices and commitment inspire us all and keep our nation safe,” Rahul Gandhi said in a post.

Additionally, Rajnath Singh, the minister of defense, sent out wishes on the occasion.

In a post to X, Singh said, “On the Armed Forces Flag Day, the nation salutes the courage, valour, fortitude and sacrifices of Indian Armed Forces.”

Since 1949, December 7 has been celebrated nationwide as Armed Forces Flag Day in remembrance of the soldiers in military who have bravely defended the nation’s honor and who continue to do so.
