BJP President Sukanta Majumdar expressed concern over the situation in Bangladesh
New Delhi: Sukanta Majumdar, a union minister and the head of the West Bengal BJP, voiced worry over the situation in Bangladesh on Tuesday, saying that it is being debated and that everyone should “raise its voice” against it.
“The whole world is talking about what’s going on in Bangladesh. The whole globe needs to speak out against this. In Beldanga, several Hindus’ homes were assaulted and set on fire a few days ago. The West Police did what? Mamata Banerjee is preventing West Bengal from implementing CAA. CAA is intended for Hindu visitors to West Bengal. She said that Hindus from Bangladesh should come here now. She should first let the state execute CAA. “There are two different rules here,” Majumdar told ANI.
“Does the INDIA bloc exist?” he asked in reference to the INDIA bloc. It consists only of separate bricks moving in various directions. All of the INDIA Alliance’s leaders want to be prime minister, but this will never happen. “For the next 30 years, the prime minister will be from the BJP,” he continues.
Citing the recent assault on his former counsel, ISKCON Kolkata Vice President Radharaman appealed to the Bangladeshi government to ensure protection for Chinmoy Krishna Das’s advocate earlier on Tuesday.
Ramen Roy, a former supporter of Chinmoy Krishna Das, is reportedly in critical condition in the hospital’s intensive care unit after an assault.
“We hope that Chinmoy Krishna Das will get justice today,” the vice president of ISKCON Kolkata told ANI. He has been incarcerated for a considerable amount of time. We have learned that Ramen Roy, his former advocate, was assaulted and is now in critical condition in the intensive care unit. We want the government of Bangladesh to provide Chinmoy Krishna Das’s supporters protection. Regarding his treatment in the prison, we don’t know anything. When he appears in court today, we hope he will explain his circumstances. We are worried about his safety and well-being.
Hindu spiritual guru Chinmoy Das will be held in prison on suspected sedition charges until January 2, 2025, according to a Bangladeshi court that scheduled that date as the next hearing date.
According to the Daily Star Bangladesh, the Chattogram court postponed the hearing on Chinmoy Krishna Das’ bail appeal till January 2. Due to the absence of the defense attorney, Chattogram Metropolitan Session Judge Saiful Islam rescheduled the hearing.
Mofizur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Prosecution) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police, subsequently verified this information to Bangladeshi media.
On November 25, Chinmoy Krishna Das, a member of the Sammilita Sanatani Jagaran Jote, was taken into custody in Dhaka. The arrest came after a local legislator submitted a complaint on October 31 alleging that Chinmoy Das and others had disrespected Bangladesh’s national flag during a Hindu community event.
