Puducherry Education Minister declares holiday in schools and colleges due to cyclone Fengal

Puducherry: Due to Cyclone Fengal’s severe rainfall, all public and private schools as well as colleges would be closed on Tuesday, December 3, according to A. Namachivayam, the city’s education minister.

Chief Minister N. Rangaswamy declared on Monday that the Puducherry government will provide Rs 5,000 in emergency help to each ration cardholder impacted by Cyclone Fengal.

“Puducherry unexpectedly got 48% rainfall as a result of Cyclone Fengal. All ration cards impacted by the hurricane would get Rs 5,000 in disaster aid from the Puducherry government, Rangaswamy informed reporters.
