The building of the international cricket stadium in Tumakuru would greatly advance the district’s development, CM Siddaramaiah said.

“We have given the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) 50 acres of land for this stadium,” the Karnataka chief minister remarked during the occasion. The district’s economic development and expansion will be greatly aided by this initiative.

In order to meet the expectations of cricket fans in the area, CM Siddaramaiah ordered authorities to finish building the stadium as soon as possible. He said that the KSCA had also asked for property in Mysuru for a cricket stadium, to which he replied, “We will provide land in Mysuru too.”

Home Minister and district in-charge of Tumakuru, G Parameshwara, Cooperation Minister KN Rajanna, Rural Development Minister Priyank Kharge, TB Jayachandra, the state’s envoy in Delhi, district MLAs, KSCA President Raghuram Bhat, and other officials attended the event.

The stadium is being built at Tumakuru, which is around 60 kilometers north of Bengaluru. With an estimated cost of Rs 150 crore, the state-of-the-art facility should be finished in two years.
All of Karnataka’s international cricket matches are now held in Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium.

MLA Suresh Gowda was criticized by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for reportedly attempting to organize a protest during the CM’s visit but failing to do so.

“I have 41 years of political experience and have served as chief minister and leader of the opposition twice. I wouldn’t be standing here now if I were the kind to get afraid easily. There is nothing to be afraid of since I have done nothing wrong,” CM Siddaramaiah said.
