A new audio clip of Pakistan PTI leader Ali Muhammad Khan has surfaced
Islamabad: According to Geo News, a new audiotape showing Ali Muhammad Khan, the head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has emerged, revealing growing divisions among the Imran Khan-founded party’s leadership after its “do-or-die” protest disaster in Islamabad.
The audio footage, which was widely condemned inside the PTI, was released days after the party abruptly postponed its march due to a government crackdown on demonstrators attempting to reach D-Chowk.
The PTI legislative leadership was questioned about why supporters were instructed to go to D-Chowk rather than stage a sit-in in Sangjani as instructed by Imran Khan.
According to a report by Geo News, the PTI leader said in the recording, which Ali Muhammad Khan verified was his, that Imran Khan had instructed the leaders to establish a protest camp in the Sangjani neighborhood of Islamabad rather than at D-Chowk in the Red Zone.
Ali Muhammad Khan said in the audio leak that the PTI founder had requested to go to Islamabad rather than D-Chowk. Khan Sahib had said that after the party members arrived in Islamabad, the final sit-in venue would be established. He said that Barrister Gohar Faisal was there when Imran Khan gave orders.
The PTI leader questioned Aleema Khan, Imran Khan’s sister, and asked why she had called rather than Gohar Ali Khan, the party chairman.
He inquired, “The PTI founder had said that there was no place for hereditary politics in our party, so why did Aleema Khan call the protest herself?” He said that Khan had stated that the call will be made by the party leadership, as reported by Geo News.
Ali Muhammad Khan said in the audiotape that PTI’s goal was to conduct negotiations via the demonstrations in response to Imran Khan’s directives. He said that Barrister Gohar Ali Khan had told Imran Khan about his wife, Bushra Bibi, being present during the demonstration, something he was unaware of.
“The PTI chairman and secretary general should have announced that the sit-in would be held in Sangjani,” Khan remarked, adding that Gandapur, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, agreed. According to Geo News, he said that no one has the authority to overrule the PTI founder’s choice.
Ali Muhammad Khan emphasized that the PTI ought to have complied with Imran Khan’s directives, saying, “We ought to have halted at Sangjani as instructed by our master. The founder-chairman’s decision cannot be overridden by anybody, not even Bushra Bibi. He said, “When Barrister Saif had conveyed the message of the founding chairman, we should have acted on it.”
Four security officers and two PTI supporters were killed Tuesday when the PTI rallies, which were calling for the release of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, became violent, according to Dawn. When the PTI demonstrators arrived at D-Chowk in Islamabad, they were greeted with heavy tear gas, which sparked a fight between the demonstrators and security personnel.
