At least eight people died as Maharashtra State Transport bus overturned in Gondia
On Friday afternoon, a Maharashtra State Transport bus flipped on the Gondia-Arjuni route in the Gondia district, close to Bindravana Tola hamlet, killing at least eight persons.
The bus was traveling to Gondia from Nagpur.
“In the Gondia area, a State transport bus was involved in an accident. The bus driver lost control of the vehicle at Bindravana Tola hamlet on the Gondia-Arjuni road, causing it to crash on the side of the road while traveling from the Bhandara depot to Gondia. According to the authorities, eight individuals have died and around thirty have been wounded.
The source said that the number of fatalities is anticipated to rise and that the wounded have been sent to the Gondia District Hospital.
The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) reports that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has directed the Transport Administration to provide the victims Rs 10 lakh monetary aid right now.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed his sympathies to the family members who had lost a loved one.
“It is very unfortunate that a Shivshahi bus met with an unfortunate accident near Sadak Arjun in Gondia district in which some passengers died,” Fadnavis said on his official X account. I offer the departed my deepest regards. We sympathize with their families’ loss.
“If required, the individuals hurt in this tragedy may get care right away at a private hospital. Additionally, if necessary, I have instructed the Gondia Collector to arrange for their relocation to Nagpur. Relief operations are being coordinated by senior government officials who have arrived at the location. “I ask God to grant the injured in this incident a speedy recovery,” Fadnavis wrote on X.
