Mysterious lights were seen above the US Capitol building, which created fear among the people
Four brilliant lights are seen floating just over the Statue of Freedom, which is positioned atop the Capitol dome, in a widely shared photo captured by Dennis Diggins, a certified tour guide and veteran of the US Air Force.
The netizens were alarmed by a new video shot from a different perspective, which made them wonder how these dazzling lights appeared out of nowhere.

The fact that the sighting happened just weeks after Congress convened a hearing on supposed secret government activities involving “alien” spaceships added to the anxiety.
X User Verifies Statements
Some chose to accept the rumor, while others took the initiative to refute the alleged UFO encounter. One X user even connected the “mysterious lights” to night sky reflections.
John Greenewald, Jr., a researcher and ufologist, said on X that “for decades and decades, the lights at the U.S. Capitol building have been causing ‘UFO sightings’ in the camera lens.”
It’s just lens flares, but it’s remarkable that someone is spreading them around once again, and even more so that they’re being purchased. “Same lens flare phenomenon in a new photo,” he continued.
The claimed UFO encounter comes after witnesses testified at previous hearings in the US Senate and House of Representatives about government attempts to coerce whistleblowers, contact with non-human intelligence, and purported covert retrieval projects.
The Pentagon said in March that it had not discovered any proof of alien spacecraft, which prompted this hearing.
