“The victim’s parents were visited at their residence by the undersigned and the National President. They had lodged complaints about your (Ghosh’s) handling of the matter, citing your lack of tact and empathy in resolving the matter in a way that was suitable given your position of authority in your interactions with them,” the ruling said, according to media reports.

“The IMA Bengal state branch as well as certain associations’ of doctors also have demanded action citing the nature of disrepute brought by you to the profession on the whole,” it said.

Additionally, the ruling said that the Indian Medical Association’s disciplinary committee had “unanimously decided to suspend you forthwith from the membership of the Indian Medical Association.”

As part of its investigation into the rape and killing of a female doctor at the facility, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) completed a second set of polygraph tests on August 26 for Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital (RGKMCH).
