Govinda Das emphasized in an interview with media that Chinmoy Krishna Das has been fighting for the protection of Bangladeshi temples and Hindus.

“Like other Hindu organizations in Bangladesh, Chinmoy Krishna has been peacefully advocating for the same goals: safeguarding Hindus’ safety, defending temples, and taking action against violent offenders. Radical elements have been active in Bangladesh for a considerable amount of time. Two of our members were sadly slain, and several temples in Noakhali were assaulted. Additionally, one of our Meherpur centers was recently assaulted. We have been making an effort to convey to Bangladesh’s national and local administrations the gravity of the issue,” he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was recently urged to step in and address the growing violence and prejudice against Hindus in Bangladesh by a group of retired judges, officials, and a serving Member of Parliament.

The November 27 letter urged the Modi-led Central government to bring the arrest of ISKCON Bangladesh priest Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari before international bodies including the Human Rights Council, the United Nations, and other pertinent bodies.

Protests and turmoil have been sparked by the detention, which has further strained ties between ISKCON and the Bangladeshi government. A lawyer filed a petition to ban ISKCON in Bangladesh after Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari was jailed on sedition charges. The petition has sparked a new political scandal in the nation by calling ISKCON a “radical organization” that is supposedly inciting communal violence.
