We implore the administration to encourage the Sanatani people to live in harmony with one another,” the statement said.
Chinmoy Krishna Das, a citizen of Bangladesh and a representative of the “Bangladesh Sammilito Sanatani Jagaran Jot,” has been an outspoken supporter of the nation’s minority groups’ preservation. It is essential to ensure that he receives justice and equitable treatment,” the statement said.
It further said, “Chinmoy Krishna Das and the Sanatani community deserve justice as citizens of this country, and we stress that any form of discrimination against them must not be tolerated” .
Three requests were made to “the Government and Relevant Authorities” by ISKCON Bangladesh.
These include locating and prosecuting those who attacked the Sanatani community, defending Chinmoy Krishna Das’s and other Sanatanis’ civil rights, and putting in place prompt, practical steps to keep all groups in the nation peaceful and harmonious.
“As a leading Sanatani organisation within the Gaudiya Vaishnav tradition, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in Bangladesh is dedicated to safeguarding the religious freedoms and rights of minorities, including Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, and others” , the statement continued.
“We have continuously called on the interim administration and other decision-makers to guarantee minorities’ constitutional rights and to enable their complete and unhindered engagement in society. In order to resolve these issues, we urge the government and administration to act quickly and decisively while consulting with Sanatani community leaders,” the statement said.
“Our birthplace and ancestral home is Bangladesh. We are proud to call this country home, since it is the birthplace of many of our saints and Acharyas. As citizens, we are dedicated to working amicably with Bangladesh’s present and future administrations. According to their statement, ISCKON Bangladesh said, “We request that the government and authorities guarantee justice for all and permit each citizen to freely practice their religion in accordance with their convictions and conscience.”
Additionally, it stated: “ISKCON Bangladesh is committed to promoting human values and peaceful coexistence. In order to restore harmony and steer the country toward communal unity, we hope that the government and pertinent authorities would acknowledge the situation and adopt nonviolent measures.
A appeal to “practice religious tolerance and avoid any provocative actions” was made in the statement’s conclusion.
