Sanjay Raut slams Ajit Pawar, Eknath Shinde
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut attacked and ridiculed the Nationalist Congress Party, led by Ajit Pawar, and the Shiv Sena, led by Eknath Shinde, on Tuesday, claiming that because they are in coalition with the Bharatiya Janata Party, they are unable to select a candidate for Maharashtra Chief Minister and have instead turned into “sub-companies of BJP.”
“Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will choose the CM. Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde are unable to decide for their party alone. At a news conference in Mumbai, he said, “These two parties are sub-companies of the BJP and are slaves of Amit Shah and PM Modi.”
He also predicted that Devendra Fadnavis of the BJP will be selected as the chief minister at the news conference.
“If the BJP doesn’t have a majority, they can destroy Ajit Pawar’s and Eknath Shinde’s parties for the majority. Right now, they have a majority, just a few seats away, but yeah, I agree they have the power. They know a lot about it; Maharashtra has seen it before. Devendra Fadnavis will be the next chief minister, in my opinion,” Raut said.
Prior to the government’s establishment, Shiv Sena politician Eknath Shinde was named caretaker chief minister of Maharashtra after resigning as chief minister.
The Mahayuti coalition has not yet chosen a leader for the Maharashtra government, yet.
Deepak Kesarkar, a state minister in the departing government and leader of the Shiv Sena, said that he would accept whatever decision made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The government’s task will be handled by him (Eknath Shinde). A decision will be made once Mahayuti leaders meet, confer, and go to Delhi, Kesarkar said on Tuesday.
“CM Shinde has clearly said that whatever decision PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah take, it will be acceptable to him,” he said to reporters.
In response to a question regarding whether there is a preferred candidate, he said that the party officials are now debating among themselves and there isn’t a clear favorite for the position of chief minister.
“All three leaders are discussing together, a good decision will be taken when they discuss with,” he said to reporters.
Early Tuesday morning, Eknath Shinde warned his followers not to gather in Mumbai or anyplace else to show their support for him.
Some congregations have made a call for everyone to come to Mumbai out of love for me. I really appreciate your love. However, I make the plea that no one should band together in such a way to support me. “I humbly ask that Shiv Sena workers refrain from gathering at Varsha bungalow, the CM’s official residence, or any other location,” Shinde said in the X post.
Additionally, he reaffirmed the Mahayuti alliance’s strength, stating that it would remain united after the resounding victory.
“Our government will be reorganized in the state after Mahayutti’s historic triumph. We raced together as a magnificent alliance and remain united to this day,” the statement said.
