According to Dawn, the convoys took a break the night before the demonstration, which was initially planned for November 24. As workers and supporters from all across the nation tried to resist arrests, baton charges, and tear gas in order to join the agitation, PTI officials said that they were in “no hurry” to get to the federal capital for their “do or die” demonstration.
According to Dawn, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) declared last week that the PTI’s planned demonstration was illegal and ordered the federal government to take all necessary steps to keep Islamabad law and orderly without interfering with public life.
The implementation of Section 144 across the province was prolonged by the Pakistan Punjab government for an additional three days, till Thursday. Dawn pointed out that because of the “law and order situation” in the province, the provincial administration had first enforced Section 144 from Saturday to Monday (today). The government of Islamabad reportedly announced on Tuesday that all public and private educational institutions would stay closed.
Some PTI senior figures have already arrived in Pakistan ahead of the demonstrations, while others are their route.
Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, and Imran Khan’s sisters are among them.
