The Union Minister took a dig at Karnataka Minister Parameshwara and said this is a big thing
Despite his party’s victory in the Karnataka and Jharkhand Assembly elections, Union Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi made fun of Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara on Monday, saying that the latter was talking about electronic voting machines in a way that was similar to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
“I had this impression that he is a mature person but he is also talking like Rahul Gandhi,” Joshi said. Although Mr. Parameshwara is regarded as one of Karnataka’s more experienced politicians, my opinion of him was regrettably incorrect.
All he has done is prove it. Even after the BJP won elections in Jharkhand and Karnataka and took 135 seats in Karnataka, they continue to utter such things,” Joshi told the reporters.
As the first winter session got underway today, the Union Minister was addressing the crowd outside the Parliament building.
Electronic voting machines (EVMs) were allegedly “selectively” hacked during the 2024 Maharashtra assembly elections, according to Parameshwara. Party leaders, including former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, discussed the EVM issues and will make an appeal to the Election Commission of India (ECI), according to the Karnataka Home Minister, who is also the All India Congress Committee observer of the Maharashtra elections.
“The Congress and Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) have performed appallingly in Maharashtra. Everyone is aware of it. We gathered and discussed yesterday with a few of our Maharashtra leaders. We sat with former chief ministers Ashok Gehlot and Baghel.
It’s shocking to learn that EVMs are selectively hacked, not in all constituencies. I think the EVMs have been compromised. We spoke about it. We will appeal this to the Election Commission and we won’t have to say anything if that is the case. “The party will decide on that,” Parameshwara informed the press.
While at the nation’s capital for the first winter session of Parliament, Supriya Sule, a member of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) or NCP (SP), said that she will speak with the Congress about the EVM problem.
“I’ll talk to Congress. I’m now on my way to the INDIA alliance conference. For all of this, we need some proof. We’re working on it, and we’ll get it done,” Sule assured reporters.
DK Shivakumar, the deputy chief minister of Karnataka, said earlier in the day that he would also be visiting Delhi in a few days to talk about the purported hacking of the electronic voting machines (EVM) used in the Maharashtra assembly elections.
On that (EVM hack), G Parameshwara also made a statement. Leaders of the Shiv Sena (UBT) are also discussed. In a few days, I will go to Delhi as well. Since this is a matter of national significance, we will also talk about it. The whole globe is watching it, too. We should all look,” Shivakumar remarked.
