A three-person screening committee was also established by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in preparation for the next assembly elections.

The committee will be chaired by Congress politician Meenakshi Natarajan, and other members include Pradeep Narwal and Imran Masood.

“With immediate effect, Shri Qazi Mohd Nizamuddin has been named the AICC in-charge of Delhi by the Honorable President of the Congress. As the General Secretary in charge of Delhi, Shri Deepak Babaria’s efforts are valued by the party. According to a statement issued by the Congress, “The Hon’ble Congress President has also established the Screening Committee for the forthcoming assembly elections in Delhi, as follows, with immediate effect.”

In a three-way race between the governing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Congress party, the Congress party will be hoping to win the Delhi assembly election.

Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP National Convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister, attacked the opposition parties on Sunday, saying they were utilizing the same “freebie schemes” that they had previously criticized the AAP for in order to get votes nationwide.

“The work that took place here is being highlighted all across the nation as the AAP administration marks ten years in power in Delhi. Speaking during a Dangal event held in Karala village, which is part of the Mundka assembly seat, Kejriwal said, “Those parties that used to disparage us for our schemes are using the same schemes to seek votes across the country.”

Kejriwal praised the AAP administration in Delhi, pointing to the accomplishments of the state government, saying that Delhi gets free water and power because the government helps the underprivileged. He went on to discuss Delhi’s better healthcare and education systems as well as the city’s growing infrastructure.

“We have served middle-class, lower-middle-class, and impoverished individuals. We also worked on the development of infrastructure. We provided free water and power to the middle class and impoverished. We created schools that are unlike any other. More than 4 lakh pupils from private schools enrolled in public schools. For the public, we established clinics in Mohalla. We gave women free access on buses. Delhi gets power all day and all night. No other location offers power around-the-clock,” he said.

Notably, the legislative Assembly Secretariat announced on Monday that the Delhi Assembly’s “Winter Session” will take place from November 29 to December 3.
