Ashok Chavan: Congress has no leadership in Maharashtra

The Mahayuti’s overwhelming win in the Maharashtra Assembly election has been referred to as “a huge change” by BJP leader Ashok Chavan.
Chavan, who defected from the Congress to the BJP earlier this year, attacked his old party, saying it lacks Maharashtra leadership.

“Maharashtra has seen a significant transformation. Mahayuti’s mandate is quite broad. Currently, Congress lacks a leader and has no remaining leaders. People now see the advantages of sticking together,” Ashok Chavan told the reporters.

The Maharashtra assembly elections were won by the governing Mahayuti coalition. The NCP, headed by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, won 41 seats, the Shiv Sena, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, got 57 seats, while the BJP took home 132 seats. There are 288 assembly seats in the state.

Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) voters were rudely shocked when Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT) won 20 seats, Congress 16, and Sharad Pawar’s NCP (SCP) only won 10.

Milind Deora, the head of the Shiv Sena, said that the Mahayuti coalition profited from the opposition leaders’ negative campaigning and the execution of excellent plans.

“I congratulate all of the Mahayuti leaders on this enormous win. Speaking to the media, Milind Deora said, “We put very strong plans into place, and the opposition’s nasty campaigning worked to our advantage.

Aditya Uddhav Thackeray of the Shiv Sena (UBT) defeated Milind Deora by 8801 votes in the Worli seat.

Shiv Sena leader Milind Deora said on Saturday that the findings validated the “real gaddari (betrayal),” which took place in 2019. Additionally, he said that the trending results demonstrate the vision and leadership of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

“Key takeaways from #Mumbai so far: 1- CM @mieknathshinde (Eknath Shinde) has proven his leadership & vision for #Maharashtra; 2- Voters chose ‘progress without speed limits’ over’speed breaker’ politics; 3- The real *gaddari* was in 2019, not 2022; 4- Hope always triumphs over fear!” Deora wrote on X, celebrating the Mahayuti alliance’s victory.
