Andhra Pradesh: Seven people killed, four others seriously injured in collision between bus and auto in Anantapur
According to the police, an RTC bus struck an automobile transporting agricultural laborers at Thalagaspalle in Garldinne Mandal of Andhra Pradesh’s Anantapur district, resulting in up to seven fatalities and four serious injuries.
Twelve agricultural laborers from Nellutla village in Kuttluru Mandal were reportedly driving to work in Garldinne in an automobile, according to the police.
The RTC bus, which was traveling in the other direction, struck their car as they were returning. Two of the dead passed away immediately.
The other two, according to the police, passed away during the hospital’s transfer, while the other three passed away from their wounds while receiving treatment there.
The Anantapur Government Hospital is treating the remaining wounded.
DSP Venkateswarulu and District SP Jagadeesh examined the accident scene after learning about the incident. The RTC bus driver has been arrested by police pending more investigation.
Chandrababu Naidu, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, said he was very shocked by the event. He gave the family of the dead Rs 5 lakh in compensation and instructed authorities to make sure the wounded received the right medical attention.
