Mumbai-Goa Train Inaugurated: A biweekly train service between Goa and the Konkan area of Maharashtra has been approved by the Railway Board. The train would leave from Bandra Terminus on the Western Railway (WR).
According to media, the train will make its debut on August 29. It will leave from Borivali, a major WR station, instead of Bandra Terminus. Central Railway stations are the departure points for all trains from Mumbai to Konkan and Goa.
The opening of a train from Bandra Terminus to Goa would be of great assistance to visitors from the Western suburbs of Mumbai who are keen to visit the well-liked coastal vacation spot.
According to a WR official, running Konkan-bound trains from their system would need them to shift course from north to south at Vasai Road in the lack of a chord line. This will take time and may also have an impact on the punctuality of other trains, media said.

He claimed that a biweekly train between Bandra Terminus and Madgoan in Goa has been announced by the Railway Board. Every Tuesday and Thursday at 7.40 am, the train leaves Madgaon and arrives at Bandra Terminus at 11.40 pm.
According to the announcement, it would depart from Bandra Terminus every Wednesday and Friday at 6.50 am and arrive in Madgaon at 10 pm.
STOPPAGES
Borivali, Vasai Road, Bhiwandi Road, Panvel, Roha, Veer, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavli, Sindhudurg, Sawantwadi, Thivim, and Karmali are the 13 stations where the train will stop.
Twenty LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch)-style coaches, which are intended to increase passenger efficiency, comfort, and safety, will be used to run it.
