Following the Mahayuti alliance led by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s victory in the Maharashtra assembly elections, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Saturday that the leaders of the three parties—the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Shiv Sena, and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)—will work together to choose the state’s next chief minister.

“In the afternoon, I congratulated Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at Varsha Bungalow, the Chief Minister’s home. “The chief minister will be chosen by the leaders of the three parties (BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP),” Fadnavis said.

Sanjay Raut, a Shiv Sena MP, came under fire from Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday for claiming that “seats were stolen” after the Maha Vikas Aghadi’s landslide victory in the assembly elections. In response, Deputy CM Fadnavis said, “One needs to introspect sometimes.”

In the meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on the alliance’s continued hold on power in the state.

Along with Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis, Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated Eknath Shinde on the Mahayuti alliance’s expected resounding win in the assembly elections.

The “historic victory” in the assembly elections, according to Prime Minister Modi, is a triumph for progress and good government. He also gave the people his word that their coalition will continue to strive for Maharashtra’s advancement.

“Progress triumphs! Effective leadership prevails! Together, we’ll reach new heights! Sincere thanks to my sisters and brothers in Maharashtra, particularly the state’s women and youth, for giving the NDA a historic mandate. This kindness and love is unmatched. I promise the populace that our Alliance will continue to strive for Maharashtra’s development. “Jai Maharashtra!” PM Modi made a post on X.

In the Maharashtra legislature, the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi has won 46 seats, while Mahayuti has won 230 of the 288 seats.
