After Priyanka Gandhi took a big lead from Wayanad seat, DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi said
DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi said she was thrilled that another powerful female voice will be joining the opposition benches in Parliament after Congresswoman Priyanka Gandhi gained a significant lead from the Wayanad seat on Saturday.
Kanimozhi told media, “I am thrilled to see another strong female voice on Parliament’s opposition benches. It’s great for democracy, and I’m thrilled about it.”
“It is the people’s verdict, and they accept that in a democracy,” Kanimozhi stated in response to the patterns of the Maharashtra Assembly elections.
She said, “In democracy, its people’s verdict and what they decide, so we had two states going for elections, one went BJP way one went other way, this is what people have decided and accept that in the democracy…”
In addition, Congressman Mumtaz Patel praised Priyanka Gandhi’s overwhelming win in Wayanad, stating that the “good news is we will now see Priyanka in Parliament.”
Patel also bemoaned the Maha Vikas Aghadi’s performance in Maharashtra, stating that it is disheartening to see the outcomes emanating from the government.
“The good news is that we will now see Priyanka ji in Parliament with a landslide victory in Wayanad,” Congress leader Mumtaz Patel told ANI. In by-elections, the party is in the lead in Gujarat and all three Karnataka seats. In Jharkhand, our coalition is likewise in the lead. The results from Maharashtra are disheartening. Since Maha Vikas Aghadi was my father Ahmed Patel’s creation, I am remembering him on this particular anniversary.
“Ahmed Patel used to act and speak seriously. He used to include everyone in his decision-making process. There is a need for those who just consider the party’s interests and put aside personal interests, just as he used to do,” she said.
In the Wayanad constituency, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is ahead by almost 6 lakh votes, according to EC statistics. She is expected to hang onto the Congress stronghold seat that her brother, Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, had previously left. She is running against Navya Haridas of the BJP. Sathyan Mokeri, a candidate from the Communist Party of India, also ran for the seat.
As of 1 PM, the Mahayuti coalition is leading in 218 seats, according to the Indian Election Commission. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won two seats, while Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) has won one. Congress, the main party in the MVA coalition, is leading in only 20 seats, while Maha Vikas Agadhi is only leading in 47.
