After consolidating the lead in Wayanad, Priyanka Gandhi said this
As she prepares to win the Lok Sabha by record margins, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday sent her sincere appreciation to the people of Wayanad.
According to the most recent data, Congress candidate Priyanka Gandhi Vadra received 6,22,338 votes in Wayanad, leading by about 4,10,931 votes.
She pledged to represent the people in Parliament and thanked them for their faith in her in a post on X.
“My beloved Wayanad sisters and brothers, Your confidence in me has filled me with immense appreciation. Over time, I will ensure that you really believe that this win is your own, and that the person you have chosen to represent you is aware of your aspirations and fights for you as if you were their own. I’m excited to represent you in Parliament. On X, Priyanka made a post.
The Congresswoman expressed gratitude to her colleagues, leaders, employees, and volunteers for their tireless efforts throughout her election campaign. She also thanked her brother, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, her mother, Congresswoman Sonia Gandhi, her husband, Robert Vadra, and their children, Raihan and Miraya, for guiding and helping her.
“I am very grateful for this honor and even more so for your unwavering support for me. Thank you for your support, for putting up with my 12-hour-a-day (no food, no rest) car rides, and for fighting like real soldiers for the principles we all hold dear,” Priyanka wrote on X. “I want to express my gratitude to my UDF colleagues, leaders from all over Kerala, workers, volunteers, and my office colleagues who worked incredibly hard during this campaign.”
“I can never express how grateful I am to my mother, Robert, and my two jewels, Raihan and Miraya, for your love and courage.” “And to my brother Rahul, you are the most courageous of all… I appreciate you always being there for me and showing me the way,” she said.
With major battles in Uttar Pradesh and Wayanad, Kerala, where Priyanka Gandhi made her political debut, the by-elections took place in 15 states, covering 48 assembly seats and two Lok Sabha seats.
Navya Haridas, the BJP’s Wayanad Lok Sabha candidate, voiced her disappointment with the present state of affairs on Saturday, since she has been lagging behind Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
According to Haridas, the BJP ran a development-focused campaign even if the party did not do as well as they had hoped.
“We had high hopes when this counting began because we solely discussed Wayanad’s growth with the populace. What we can do in this situation… During this election, a development-focused campaign was run. We had hoped that individuals would be acting on their thoughts in a way that would promote progress. However, the turnout for the election was sadly rather low. “The BJP was unable to achieve the level we had anticipated,” she said.
Rahul Gandhi resigned from the Wayanad seat after opting to keep the Rae Bareli seat in Uttar Pradesh, where he had won both seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
