Jharkhand: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesman Pratul Shah Deo said on Saturday that a new era will begin in the state with the end of the misrule of the Soren administration as the state’s assembly election vote counting continues.
“Not only has the Jharkhand election count begun, but a new era is beginning with the end of the misrule of corruption of Hemant Soren,” Deo told a media report. Although we are quite optimistic, we anticipate the first trends to appear in an hour. The BJP and the people of Jharkhand will welcome the day. We will return with a resounding majority, and Hemant Soren is leaving.”
Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar said earlier today that the postal ballot counting will start at 8 a.m. and that the first round of EVM results would be released by 9:30 a.m.
K Ravi Kumar, the state chief electoral officer, stated: “All 24 districts now have one counting center each. Every preparation has been completed. The procedure has started… EVM and postal ballot counting will start at 8.30 and 8 a.m., respectively. By 9.30 am, the first round’s results will be announced.
The first round of voting in Jharkhand, which included 43 of the 81 assembly seats, was held on November 13. The BJP-led NDA coalition, which consists of AJSU, JD(U), and LJP, is running against the JMM-led alliance, which consists of Congress, RJD, and CPI(ML). According to exit polls, the JMM-led coalition is anticipated to win 25–30 seats, while the NDA may win 42–47 seats.
On election day, Jharkhand’s voter turnout surpassed the 65 percent turnout in 2019 with a recorded turnout of over 68.45 percent.
The JMM took 30 seats, the BJP 25 seats, and the Congress 16 seats in the 2019 elections. Today will see the announcement of the Maharashtra and by-election results, as well as the results for all 81 Jharkhand seats.
