Cultural, traditional festival of BRICS countries to be organised for school children in Moscow
Moscow: Moscow will hold a celebration for kids that honors the customs and culture of the BRICS nations, according to TV BRICS. The Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Russian Federation’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MGIMO) and the TV BRICS International Media Network are organizing the event, according to TV BRICS.
About 300 students in grades 8–11 are expected to attend the cultural and traditional festival, where they will learn about the history of the BRICS nations, the cultural identities of different peoples, linguistic diversity, and international collaboration in the mass communications sector.
The MGIMO student community activists will help with event preparation, according to TV BRICS.
“Strengthening multilateralism in global development and security was the primary goal of the just-finished BRICS Summit in Kazan. One important element in the rapid growth of BRICS ties is the training of highly skilled foreign professionals fluent in the languages of the BRICS countries. This is made possible by our institution, which teaches all of the key BRICS languages,” said Igor Putintsev, vice-rector for language and pre-university training.
“TV BRICS for Youth: Exploring the Traditions of the Member Countries through Media” is the title of the master class that Anna Lisina, Editor-in-Chief of the TV BRICS website, will lead during the festival. She will discuss TV BRICS’ collaboration with foreign media partners, the multilingual media editorial team’s efforts to promote the BRICS agenda on social media, and more.
“The TV BRICS media website adheres to a creative information policy and focuses on topics that strengthen international cooperation: culture, diplomacy, education, science, economics, healthcare, innovative technologies, tourism, and sports,” she said.
“We operate a number of unique programs for young people, who make up a significant portion of our target audience. Examples include the BRICS Bloggers Team and the BRICS View section, which features brief movies on country customs and culture. Additionally, the TV BRICS website allows university students and young professionals to immediately get advice and insights from top BRICS+ specialists, according to Anna Lisina, editor-in-chief of the website.
One of the top colleges in Russia and the globe, MGIMO is a partner of TV BRICS and is well-known for its distinct international competence. The institution has a Guinness World Record and teaches 53 foreign languages.
According to TV BRICS, MGIMO has been a member of the Russian government’s “Priority 2030” university assistance program since 2021.
Notably, TV BRICS has partnerships with around 30 universities in South Africa, Brazil, India, and Russia, including those that are part of the BRICS Network University.
