“Approximately 2700 CCTV cameras are being installed throughout the district and entire fair area,” said Rajesh Dwivedi, SSP Mahakumbh Mela. This will assist us with crowd control. Additionally, AI-enabled cameras have been placed across the region.

We will automatically get notifications from these cameras depending on their feed. In addition to human intellect, this step would be taken. AI is expanding human intelligence’s knowledge base. A total of 56 police stations will be erected in the region, including the 25 that we have already constructed.

To guarantee the security and comfort of an expected 45 crore worshippers, the Yogi Adityanath administration is transforming the Maha Kumbh preparations. The great event is being digitalized on such a massive scale for the first time, using social media and artificial intelligence (AI) to improve security and administration.

The Kumbh venue is being equipped with AI-powered cameras to keep an eye on the large throng and provide round-the-clock security. In addition to improving security, these cutting-edge cameras will help bring people back together who could get separated during the event.

Furthermore, well-known social media sites like Facebook and X will provide prompt support in finding missing family members, expediting the process of bringing families back together among the sea of pilgrims.

This time, attendees of the Mahakumbh 2025 from all over the nation and outside won’t have to be concerned about missing loved ones in the throng. To solve this issue, the Mela government has come up with a comprehensive strategy. On December 1, a digital “khoya paaya kendra” (lost-and-found center) will open, using cutting-edge technology to swiftly and effectively reconnect separated persons.

328 AI-enabled cameras, which have previously undergone testing in four strategic places, will be installed around the fair area. These cameras will keep an eye on the crowd around-the-clock and help find those who have gone missing. The large-scale installation of these cameras is nearing completion in accordance with the Yogi government’s directions.

Every missing person’s information will be instantly entered into the computerized lost-and-found centers. The AI-powered cameras will start looking for the person once they have registered. In order to facilitate a speedy search for missing people, information about them will also be posted on social media sites like Facebook and X (previously Twitter).

At the Maha Kumbh, face recognition technology will be used to identify those who get separated from their loved ones. This cutting-edge technology will start working immediately, taking pictures and identifying everyone of the 45 crore people who are expected to attend.
