Counting of votes for DUSU elections 2024-25 will be held on November 25
New Delhi: On November 25, votes will be counted for the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections of 2024–2025. The Hon’ble Delhi High Court ordered Delhi University to count ballots by November 26 at the latest, as long as all anomalies are fixed, according to Professor Satyapal Singh, Chief Election Officer for the DUSU Elections 2024–25.
During a study, he said, it was found that some inconsistencies had not been fully rectified in certain places. The institution has thus made the decision to handle the cleanup itself.
Professor Satyapal Singh further affirmed that the DUSU election vote count would take place on November 25 in light of these events.
At the Conference Centre, which is across from the Department of Botany on the North Campus, the vote counting will start at 8:00 am.
All departments, centers, institutions, and colleges have been directed to tally their own votes on November 24. While evening institutions have been instructed to start at 2:00 pm, morning colleges, departments, institutes, and centers will start counting at 8:00 am.
The Delhi High Court had previously ordered Delhi University to start the vote-counting procedure by November 26 if all public and private properties vandalized during the election campaign were cleaned and repainted within a week.
The panel, which included Justice Tushar Rao Gedela and Chief Justice Manmohan, also directed Delhi University and its students to submit a report within ten days attesting to the repair of the damaged properties. Prashant Manchanda, who expressed worries about the vandalism of both private and public buildings during the DUSU elections, filed a case with the court.
