BJP’s Daggubati Purandeswari welcomed the TTD board’s proposal in this matter
Daggubati Purandeswari, a BJP MP and the president of the Andhra Pradesh BJP, praised the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board’s decision to exclude non-Hindu employees from the temple on Tuesday, calling it “a very good decision.”
She went on to say that those who don’t follow Hindu Dharma can’t really fulfill their positions in temples.
Purandeswari told ANI, “I firmly support the decision made by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board, which is chaired by BR Naidu. The board has made a really wise choice, in my opinion.
The Andhra Pradesh branch of the Bharatiya Janata Party has long been devoted to the idea that non-Hindus should not hold elected office or serve on boards in temples because those who lack respect for Hindu Dharma and do not even know what it is are unable to carry out their duties if assigned to temples.”
“In fact, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andhra unit had already taken a movement prior to this about 4-5 months earlier wherein we had conducted a signature campaign in front of all temples that non-Hindus should not be given responsibilities in Hindu temples,” she said.
On Tuesday, BR Naidu, the chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), said that non-Hindu personnel in the TTD have been identified and would be asked to either voluntarily resign or transfer to other government agencies such as corporations, municipalities, or revenue.
His comments were made the day after the TTD Board adopted a resolution mandating that non-Hindu employees of the board choose between voluntary retirement or a transfer to another Andhra Pradesh government agency.
“I moved the resolution in the Board yesterday,” TTD chairman BR Naidu told ANI. The Board has approved it unanimously. Some TTD employees have been recognized as non-Hindus.I would ask such folks to take VRS because I wanted to meet them in person. We will transfer or maybe award deputation to other government agencies, such as Revenue, Municipality, or any Corporation, if they show no interest. That’s what we intend to do.
BR Naidu was named the new chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) in October. “I intend to work without intending to gain anything,” he remarked.
A month after the Tirupati Prasadam issue started, he was appointed. This problem started when Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu claimed that under the previous YSRCP administration, inferior components, such as pig fat, were utilized to make Tirupati laddus, the Prasadam served at the Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirupati.
