Pakistan: Two security personnel including an officer were killed in a recent terror attack in Balochistan
Pakistan: The Dawn, a Pakistani newspaper, said Friday that two security personnel, including an officer, were murdered in a recent terror incident in Balochistan, according to authorities.
After information indicated that terrorists were preparing to kill people, security troops were deployed under Major Muhammad Haseeb on Thursday in the Harnai area of Balochistan, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), as reported by the Dawn.
Three terrorists were killed when the military confronted them during the operation. But according to the Dawn, an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded next to the security forces’ main truck, killing 28-year-old Haseeb from Multan and 38-year-old Havildar Noor Ahmed from Barkhan.
According to the Dawn, the ISPR statement said that the country and Pakistani security forces are still determined to stop efforts to destabilize Balochistan, and the loss of those troops only strengthened their will to do so.
Separately, two people were kidnapped by unknown armed persons who stopped a car in the Mangi neighborhood of Ziarat. The remains of the victims were later found with evidence of torture in a steep area close to Mangi Dam. After residents informed the police, the victims—who were recognized as Punjabi by their national ID cards—were located. The corpses were recovered by Levies staff and sent to a local hospital. The deceased’s identities have not yet been verified. To find the perpetrators of the crime, security personnel have begun a search.
