To combat the rising number of traffic infractions in the city, transgender people will be recruited experimentally and stationed at drunk driving checkpoints and other busy locations.

“Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy ordered the officials to focus on the appointment of transgenders as traffic volunteers to address the growing traffic problems in Hyderabad City,” said the announcement.

As previously agreed, the Chief Minister requested that authorities designate transgender people as traffic volunteers in the first phase’s high-traffic areas. Similar to Home Guards, the Chief Minister said that transgender people should be used at signal-jumping spots to stop traffic violations.

In order to curb the rising number of instances in the city, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has recommended that authorities use transgender people at drunk driving checkpoints and make use of their services. According to the statement, authorities have been requested to decide on a unique dress code for transgender people as well as a pay scale comparable to that of the Home Guard.

“The CM directed the officials to implement the decision in an experimental manner at the earliest,” said the statement.
