“With state-of-the-art equipment and sophisticated intelligence capabilities, #ANTF is more equipped than ever to protect Punjab’s future from the hold of drugs. “ANTF’s ability to effectively and precisely combat the drug menace is greatly strengthened by this specialized unit, which is focused on analyzing drug-related data, communications, financial transactions, and trafficking profiles,” DGP Gaurav Yadav said in a post on X.

The development occurred a few months after the DGP Punjab officially opened the ANTF’s Intelligence and Technical Unit (SITU), which was established at a cost of Rs 11 crore and has sophisticated software systems designed for the careful examination of data pertaining to drugs, communication, social media interactions, financial transactions, and the thorough profiling of drug traffickers.

According to DGP Gaurav Yadav, the Support Services Unit, which was built at a cost of Rs 1.28 crore, has cutting-edge amenities including contemporary infrastructure and remodeled office spaces. He noted that the unit is ideally positioned to enhance the ANTF’s operational effectiveness and fortify its capacity to fight drug trafficking in the state.

“Pertinently, in April this year, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann allocated a budget of Rs 14.6 crores to augment the ANTF’s capabilities, of which nearly Rs 11 crores had been earmarked for upgrading the ANTF’s technical infrastructure, while Rs 3 crores was meant to improve its physical infrastructure,” the press release stated.
