Jharkhand Assembly Election: 46.25 percent voting in the first phase till 1 pm
Jharkhand Assembly Election: According to figures from the Election Commission of India, the first round of Jharkhand’s assembly votes had a 46.25 percent voter participation up to 1 pm.
Voting in 43 of the state’s 81 seats started Wednesday at 7 a.m. as part of the first phase of the Jharkhand assembly elections.
With a 52.11 percent turnout, Gumla leads the election process, followed by Lohardaga (51.53%) and Khunti (51.37%), according to figures from the Election Commission of India.
50.71 percent of voters cast ballots in Seraikella-Kharsawan, 50.66 percent in Simdega, and 50.41 percent in Latehar.
The ECI reports that the turnout was 47.33 percent in Kodarma, 46.81 percent in Ramgarh, 46.75 percent in Garhwa, 46.41 percent in West Singhbhum, 45.77 percent in Hazaribagh, 45.76 percent in Chatra, 44.88 percent in East Singhbhum, and 44.00 percent in Palamu.
With a turnout of 40.98 percent as of 1 pm, the capital city of Ranchi continues to see decreased voter turnouts.
After casting his ballot, Hemant Soren, the Jharkhand Chief Minister and JMM candidate from Barhait, urged the state’s residents to do the same in order to bolster the nation’s democracy.
“We have cast our votes at our respective polling stations today,” Soren said. In order to bolster the nation’s democracy, I urge the people of Jharkhand to turn out and vote.”
The people are “completely rejecting” the JMM-Congress, according to former chief minister Madhu Koda, who expressed confidence in the BJP-NDA candidate’s win.

On November 20, elections will be held for the remaining 38 seats. November 23 is when the votes will be counted.
