The former president praised the American ideals of Robert Kennedy, the father of Robert Kennedy Jr., and his uncle John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States. And I am aware that they are very proud of Bobby as they stare down at him right now. I’m happy for Bobby.

In response to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s decision to withdraw from the presidential race and back Trump, the Kennedy family has adopted a tough stance. His sister, Kerry Kennedy, publicly criticized the decision, calling it a “betrayal” of the core values of their family. In the same letter, she backed Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, two Democratic candidates.

In a statement on X, Kerry said, “We want a future America defined by individual freedom, economic promise, and national prideā€”a future filled with hope and bound together by a shared vision.”

Kerry said, “Bobby’s decision to back Trump tonight has betrayed the core beliefs of their father and family.”

“Our father and our family’s core beliefs have been betrayed by our brother Bobby’s choice to support Trump today. The narrative has a depressing conclusion.

In his farewell address, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. expressed his belief that there was no practical path to the presidency.

Kennedy accused the Democratic party of being “corrupt” and said that it was waging “continual legal warfare against both President Trump and myself” in his statements.
