UPPSC Protest: Police file FIR against 12 persons for vandalism
UPPSC Protest: According to authorities on Wednesday, the Uttar Pradesh Police have filed a formal complaint against 12 people for vandalizing a demonstration requesting that the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) examinations be administered in a single shift.
For the last two days, aspirants have been demonstrating outside the commission’s Prayagraj headquarters, calling for “one day, one shift exams.”
Officials said that when some criminals smashed down fences and demolished coaching boards on Tuesday night, the police filed a formal complaint against 12 people.
Twelve people have been the subject of a formal complaint. Additionally, a few persons have been placed into police custody, according to Prayagraj Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Bharti.
In order to encourage the demonstrators to provide better options, UPPSC representatives have visited the protest location to discuss the policies and solicit feedback.
Sources claim that despite their failed attempts to negotiate with authorities the night before, the students are still intent on pressing their demands. They anticipate a bigger turnout on Wednesday, so they are inviting additional classmates. They have promised to keep up their nonviolent demonstration until their issues are resolved, and they are carrying cookies and other supplies.
As in the past, the candidates are calling for the next PCS and RO/ARO tests to be administered in a single shift. They think this will improve the process’s fairness and manageability.
Following student demonstrations, a political dispute has broken out in Uttar Pradesh.
Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), criticized the state administration for the protests that are still going on. He called the protest “yogi vs. competitor students” and asked if the government would now use bulldozers to attack student housing. “The rise of the students will be the fall of the BJP,” Yadav said on X (previously Twitter), adding, “Unhone chalaya lathi-danda ‘Naukri’ nahi jinka agenda.”
Yadav went on to attack the BJP, saying that the government’s emphasis on communal politics has taken focus away from more important matters like employment. He said, “The people of BJP do politics to keep the people engaged in the struggle for livelihood so that BJP people can continue to indulge in corruption under the guise of communal politics.” He also brought up the fact that examinations had been postponed for years and job openings had not been filled, which infuriated and disappointed the young people.
