International Cricket : On Saturday, Shikhar Dhawan, the leading batsman for India, declared his retirement from international cricket.

Dhawan, who played for India in 34 Tests, 167 ODIs, and 68 T20Is between 2010 and 2022, announced his intention to retire from both local and international cricket in a social media video.

“Playing for India was my one and only dream, which I also accomplished.

I am appreciative to everyone who helped me along the way. my family comes first. “I learned the fundamentals of the game from my childhood coach, the late Tarak Sinha, and from Madan Sharma,” Dhawan said.

Additionally, I want to thank my cricket team, with whom I have played for a very long time. I have a new family, a name, fame, and the affection of all the fans,” he said.

I appreciate the chance that BCCI and DDCA have provided for me. The left-hander said, “I am also grateful to the fans who have shown me so much affection throughout the years.

“He is glad that he has played for India for such a long time, therefore I am telling myself not to be sorry that he won’t be able to represent India again. The most important thing to me is that I played,” Dhawan said.

After making his international cricket debut in 2010 in Visakhapatnam against Australia, Dhawan accumulated over 10,000 runs.

24 centuries are part of his outstanding resume; 17 came from ODIs and 7 from Tests.
Under MS Dhoni’s leadership, Dhawan was an important part of the Indian team that won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.

With two hundreds and one fifty, he amassed 363 runs at an average of 90.75 in 5 matches, making him the tournament’s top run scorer.
