India extends warm welcome to Venezuela’s Executive Vice President Delcy Rodriguez on her arrival
New Delhi: Delcy Rodriguez, the executive vice president of Venezuela, came in India on Friday on a business visit, and the country welcomed her.
“Warm welcome to Executive Vice President @delcyrodriguezv of Venezuela as she arrives in India on a working visit,” said Randhir Jaiswal, a spokesman for the Ministry of External Affairs, in a post on X upon her arrival. Her visit will provide a chance to deepen bilateral relations even further.
She previously traveled to India in August 2023, together with four other ministers and a 25-member business delegation, at the invitation of Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal to attend the 9th CII-LAC Conclave.
Rodriguez spoke with important Indian authorities during her tour, such as the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, the Minister of External Affairs, and the Minister of Finance.
Before this, on October 29 and 30, 2019, she traveled to India alongside Simon Zerpa, Minister of Economy and Finance, to attend the 2nd International Solar Alliance General Assembly.
Nicolas Maduro received 51.2% of the vote and was proclaimed the victor of the July 28 election in Venezuela by the authorities. Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia, the opposition candidate who had been ahead in surveys, received 44.2%. The news sparked several fraud allegations, which also went viral on social media.
