Terrorist threat: Israel warns Israelis not to travel to Sri Lanka

Terrorist threat: Due to the possibility of a terrorist assault, Israel’s national security cabinet on Wednesday urged Israelis to evacuate certain vacation destinations in southern Sri Lanka right away.

According to the agency, the warning was based on “current information about a terrorist threat focused on tourist areas and beaches” and applied to the Arugam Bay area as well as beaches in the south and west of Sri Lanka.

The precise nature of the danger was not specified by the Security Council. A security warning was also issued by the US embassy in Sri Lanka.
