More than 15 unions from the Delhi-NCR are participating in this strike as a form of protest against app-based taxi services like Ola and Uber.

The unions claim that the federal and state administrations ignored their concerns about insufficient pay despite their repeated protests.

According to media agency, Kishan Verma, the president of the Delhi Auto Taxi Transport Congress Union, said, “We demand an end to this game.”

“Employment for auto and taxi drivers, which is being affected or taken away, must be addressed,” said Kishan Verma. Along with the trafficking in booze and narcotics, private cab services like Ola and Uber are participating in smuggling. We are going to strike in order to solve these problems. The organization has decided to cease all car and taxi services in Delhi NCR on August 22 and 23, according to media reports.
The Union official said that ride-hailing service providers are taking a 45 percent fee on their journeys and recommended that government-backed applications be made mandatory in addition to outlawing app-based taxi services. “We are not getting anything,” he said. On the highways are motorcycles and e-rickshaws with custom number plates.”
The national capital’s roadways would be closed to all traffic during the strike, including autos, kaali-peeli taxis, economy radio taxis, and taxis with all-India tourist licenses.
