The Internet explodes as Hakeem Jeffries compares Donald Trump to a “ex-boyfriend” who “just won’t go away.”

Hakeem Jeffries, the Democratic minority leader in the House, made fun of Donald Trump on Wednesday by drawing a comparison between the former president and a “old boyfriend” who “just won’t go away.”

During Jeffries’ opening remarks at the Democratic National Convention (DNC), he compared Donald Trump to an ex-boyfriend who refuses to go away.

He said that in an effort to mend fences with Americans, Trump had been circling around for the last four years.

The Democratic leader continued by criticizing Trump’s tax bill from 2018, his record on COVID-19, and his role in the assault on January 6. “Bro, there’s a reason we broke up with you,” joked the minority leader in the Democratic House.

Donald Trump is free to spin the world all he wants, but a reconciliation is never justified. Done it, been there. We’re not turning around,” he said.

Given his ability to take on Republicans head-on, Jeffries is considered by House Democrats to be one of their most proficient attack dogs on Capitol Hill.

He refers to them as “extreme MAGA Republicans” and did so again during his address on Wednesday.

Trump satire by Hakeem Jeffries dominates the internet

Hakeem Jeffries became popular on X, the defunct Twitter platform, after attacking Trump. One user commented on X, saying, “Excellent stuff right here.”

Hakeem Jeffries made a very witty and insightful comparison there! With that analogy, he effectively conveyed the enduring nature of Trump’s influence on politics. Another said, “It definitely adds a humorous twist to the ongoing political commentary.”

Totally in agreement! Now is the moment to let go and look to the future. A third person said, “That image is crazy, I can’t wait to see what it’s all about.”

Trump’s admirer, however, became irritated with Jeffries’ insult on the former president.

He was questioned, “Why did you break up with Biden?” by one of the X users. “They’re all freaking out because Donald Trump is going to win,” said another.

Trump and his team have not yet responded to Jeffries’ comments.
