Rajasthan Weather: Rain becomes a disaster in Rajasthan, heavy rain for 72 hours in these districts including Karauli
Rajasthan Weather: Rajasthan is on storm caution now. Heavy rains are causing rivers to overflow across multiple districts. Lakes are full, dams are flooded. Karauli’s inhabitants can’t leave their homes because of non-stop rains for over a day, and the whole place feels like a massive waterbody. Consequently, quite a few districts face disrupted living conditions. Relief efforts are under way by the local government. With an increasingly alarming scenario, schools in Jaipur, Bharatpur, Dausa, and Sawai Madhopur districts remained closed on Monday. Sadly, the rain has already claimed 15 lives.
How was the weather last day?
Well, East Rajasthan experienced severe rains, the west got moderate downpours and thundershowers. Karauli reported the highest rainfall statewide, a whopping 380.0 mm. Ganganagar, on the other hand, had the highest temperature of 38.0 degrees Celsius. As a result, Jaipur’s Meteorological Department issued a red alert for hefty rainfalls in East Rajasthan and nearby areas like Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, and Dausa. For West Rajasthan, they put out a yellow alert. Based on this, the state government declared a school holiday in Jaipur, Bharatpur, Dausa and Sawai Madhopur on Monday.
Heavy rain is likely in the surrounding areas
Lastly, the forecast for the next several days isn’t encouraging. The Northeast Rajasthan Circulation System is churning, likely to cause heavy rain in nearby regions for coming days. The monsoon ‘trough line’ is passing through Bikaner today. Moderate to major rainfall is expected across East Rajasthan for the following week. Monsoon should kick in at Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Udaipur, Bharatpur, Bikaner and Jodhpur regions. The Shekhawati region might also witness heavy rain at select locations.
