PM Modi worshiped Maa Brahmacharini and wished the countrymen a very Happy Navratri
Navratri Day 2: In honor of Maa Brahmacharini, the second manifestation of Maa Durga, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent warm congratulations to the country on the second day of Shardiya Navratri 2024. “On the second day of Navratri, on behalf of all the countrymen, I offer my special obeisance to Maa Brahmacharini,” he said on X, the previous Twitter platform, wishing everyone well and happiness. I ask the Mother Goddess to provide her followers with the courage to overcome any obstacles. PM Modi also performed the Maa Brahmacharini’s prayers (stuti).
The nine-day Shardiya Navratri 2024 will end on October 12 with Dussehra (Vijaya Dashami). It started on October 3. On the second day, devotees honor Goddess Brahmacharini, whereas on the first day they honor Goddess Shailputri. All around the nation, people celebrate this occasion with a great deal of fervor and dedication.
Day 2 of Navratri: Goddess Brahmacharini
Worshipped on the second day of Navratri, Maa Brahmacharini is a representation of Goddess Parvati in her single form. She is seen carrying a kamandal and a japan mala. Hindu legend states that Goddess Brahmacharini underwent intense penance in order to get married to Lord Shiva.
She kept a tight regimen and remained outside in inclement weather, going from a diet of fruits and flowers for a thousand years to a diet of green vegetables for an additional hundred years. In an act of self-immolation, Maa Brahmacharini wished for a father in her future incarnation who would honor Lord Shiva.
Day 2 of Navratri Color: Green
Wearing green, devotees mark the second day of Navratri. It conjures up images of growth, fertility, and peace and represents nature. Green, a color associated with rebirth and tranquility, is said to call upon Goddess Durga’s blessings of serenity and peace, signifying a new beginning in life.
Celebrations of Navratri
Shardiya Navratri is a nine-day celebration that is widely observed in all states and is devoted to worshiping the nine incarnations of Goddess Durga. The celebration centers upon a new goddess avatar every day.
Chaitra Navratri, which also ushers in the Hindu New Year, is the first of two Navratri celebrations held twice a year. On the other hand, Shardiya Navratri is seen as a representation of the triumph of virtue over evil.
Goddess Shailputri, Goddess Brahmacharini, Goddess Chandraghanta, Goddess Kushmanda, Goddess Skandamata, Goddess Katyayani, Goddess Kalaratri, Goddess Mahagauri, and Goddess Siddhidatri are all nine incarnations commemorated on these nine days.
