Stock market holiday today: Chinese stock markets will remain closed for an extended period from October 01 to 7
Stock market holiday today: India’s stock exchanges will be closed on October 2 in honor of Gandhi Jayanti. All categories are impacted by this shutdown, including stock markets like the BSE Sensex, Nifty50, derivatives, and SLB. Furthermore, there will be no multi-commodity exchange throughout the morning and evening sessions.
There are sixteen planned stock market holidays in the calendar year, one more than in the previous one.
The Chinese stock markets will be closed from October 1 to October 7 for a prolonged time in addition to the Indian markets, in honor of China National Day. On October 1, the market in Hong Kong will likewise be closed.
Due to Diwali Laxmi Pujan, Friday, November 1st, will be the next trade holiday in India. To commemorate the auspicious festival of Diwali, the exchanges will have a unique trading session on November 1st, which is referred to as the Muhurat trading session. The new Hindu calendar year, Samvat 2081, will begin during this session.
Tuesday saw a little decrease in the main indexes, the BSE Sensex and Nifty50, which represents the third day in a row of losses due to profit-taking in the oil and gas industry and some FMCG sectors. Throughout the trading day, the BSE Sensex fluctuated between a high of 84,648.40 and a low of 84,098.94. It finished at 84,266.29, down 33.49 points, or 0.04 percent.
In a similar vein, the NSE Nifty finished the day slightly down, closing at 25,796.90 after losing 13.95 points, or 0.05 percent. Analysts blamed the weak market performance on significant withdrawals of foreign funds and muted global market trends, which lowered investor confidence.
Following China’s announcement of stimulus measures to support its economy on Friday, the Nifty has dropped by 419 points, or 1.6%, while the Sensex has lost over 1,570 points, or around 2%, since then.
