After the identification of illegal immigrants by Delhi Police, Chairman Vijender Gupta said, “The double engine government is doing its job”
New Delhi: Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta said that the double-engine government is carrying out its duties after a verification effort by Delhi Police to find illegal immigrants.

“The government of Delhi is carrying out its duties. In Delhi, things have changed. ” A new double-engine government has been formed,” Gupta informed the media report.
The Delhi Police carried out a verification exercise on Thursday in an effort to find illegal immigrants from Bangladesh residing in Delhi’s Sangam Vihar neighborhood.
Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena of Delhi ordered the police to send out a special expedition in January of this year to find Bangladeshi immigrants residing in the nation’s capital.
According to a Sangam Vihar resident who spoke to the media report, the police had inquired about her transfer date.
“I’m from Kolkata, but I’ve spent the last year living in Delhi. When I got here, the cops questioned me… “My Aadhar card was examined,” she stated.
As part of a campaign against people who are still in the country illegally, senior Delhi Police officials agreed earlier this week to step up efforts to identify and expel illegal immigrants from Bangladesh.
In order to raise public awareness about the significance of confirming workers, especially construction laborers, and domestic assistance and employees for their own safety, the LG had instructed the Delhi police to start an outreach effort using social media and print media.
The need for antecedent verification before employment may also be brought to the attention of Shopkeeper Associations and Resident Welfare Associations. Appropriate legal action may also be taken against companies that hire, house, or shelter these illegal immigrants without first obtaining the necessary documentation, according to the LG’s January letter to the Delhi Police Commissioner. Delhi Police arrested 16 suspects for illegally entering India in February of this year.
The individuals were discovered to be overstaying in India without a legal visa, according to the authorities. The Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO) ordered their expulsion once they were presented. They were therefore sent to a detention facility.
