“I can state with confidence that the assembly had a productive discussion today; the administration replied to several excellent points that were brought forward. Maha Kumbh sent a pleasant message to everyone. Additionally, the budget was shown. The assembly speaker told the media, “I am proud to say that all of our members are educated and eager to work for the public.”

Keshav Prasad Maurya, the deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, also emphasized the session’s value to the state’s progress. “The meeting is over. “The development of Uttar Pradesh has greatly benefited from this session,” Maurya told reporters in Lucknow.

Today, March 5, marks the end of the UP assembly’s budget session, which began on February 18. The state’s 2025–2026 budget, which totaled over Rs 8 lakh crore, was presented to the legislature during the more than three-week-long session.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attacked the Samajwadi Party and discussed the just-completed Maha Kumbh Mela on the last day of the legislature. After a spitting incident, the UP assembly has prohibited gutka and pan masala on the assembly grounds.

“With immediate effect, it is forbidden to eat pan masala and gutka on Vidhan Sabha property. If someone eats pan masala and gutka on Vidhan Sabha property, they will be fined Rs 1,000 and would be subject to the appropriate legal procedure,” Mahana said.

Regarding the Maha Kumbh, UP Chief Minister Adityanath blasted the opposition for disseminating “negative propaganda” about it at Prayagraj, claiming that their attempts to disseminate false information had failed to erode the nation’s citizens’ trust.

“The negative propaganda and misinformation that was spread had no impact on the faith of the people of the country,” CM Yogi said during his speech to the UP legislative assembly. You tried spreading negativity, but it didn’t work. The opposition made a calculated attempt to sow discord, but neither the people of Uttar Pradesh nor the nation took your statements seriously. The public will soon quit paying attention to you.

The chief minister also related the achievement of a boatman who made Rs 30 crores when the religious gathering was in session.

“During the Mahakumbh, the family of a boatman who possessed 130 boats made a total of Rs 30 crore in 45 days. According to CM Yogi, each boat made Rs 23 lakh over the course of the 45 days, or around Rs 50,000–52,000 per day.
