Uttarakhand: Eight people died after an avalanche hit a BRO camp
Chamoli: According to Brigadier MS Dhillon, Commander of IBEX Brigade, an avalanche slammed a Border Road Organization (BRO) camp near Mana, killing eight people. Brigadier Dhillon said in a video that 46 people had been rescued and were receiving treatment at different phases.

“A BRO camp in Mana was hit by an avalanche early on February 28. He said that the Indian army launched a search and rescue operation right away.
“Over the previous three days, the operation was carried out nonstop in bad weather, day and night. 46 people in all have been saved and are receiving treatment at different phases. Sadly, eight people lost their lives in this incident. “We have now recovered all of the mortal remains,” Brig. Dhillon said.
“The families of the workers who perished in this tragedy have the Indian army’s deepest sympathies. The Indian Army, Indian Air Force, ITBP, NDRF, border roads, and the state administration worked together to conduct professional and unrelenting rescue operations that saved many lives,” he said.
On Sunday, the Indian Army wrapped all its search and rescue efforts in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district’s Mana region. Following the February 28 avalanche, these actions were part of the relief efforts to free the BRO personnel who were stranded.
Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, on Sunday expressed his sympathies to the families of the BRO employees who perished in the avalanche.
In addition, the Chief Minister prayed for the quick recovery of the avalanche victims.
“The rescue operation was going on continuously for the last two days, and the entire rescue is almost complete,” CM Dhami told ANI. All 46 of the individuals discovered therein have been moved from Badrinath to Joshimath, with some going from Joshimath to AIIMS Rishikesh.
“I hope they all get well quickly and are fully healed; some of them are no longer with us. We ask God to provide them serenity and to give their loved ones the fortitude to deal with the loss,” CM Dhami added.
