AAP Spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar clarified the party’s position on the installation of paintings in the Delhi Assembly
New Delhi: Speaking about the recent chaos in the Delhi Assembly, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) spokeswoman Priyanka Kakkar explained the party’s position on the portrait installation. Kakkar stressed that while the Aam Aadmi Party expressed concerns over the removal of important historical individuals’ pictures, they never opposed the installation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s image.

“We have never opposed the installation of PM Narendra Modi’s image, but it is impossible to overlook Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Babasaheb Ambedkar, who drafted the constitution and granted us all the privileges we have today. In order to install the pictures of the President and Prime Minister, their portraits shouldn’t have been taken down,” Kakkar said.
After the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report was presented to the Delhi Legislative Assembly, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharjee launched a vicious attack on the AAP, claiming that Arvind Kejriwal would soon face consequences and that the true nature of the party was being exposed.
In an interview with ANI, Bhattacharjee charged the AAP with participating in a huge financial scam worth Rs 2026 crore. Citing previous frauds in Tripura connected to left-wing organizations, he further claimed a secret alliance between the AAP and leftist elements.
Bhattacharjee said that the party’s backers were engaged in anti-national actions and called for responsibility for the financial mismanagement. He also alluded to potential more disclosures.
In a scathing assault on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over the CAG report on Delhi’s excise policy, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Delhi on Tuesday referred to former Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal as an “sharab ka dalal” (alcohol broker).
Delhi’s politician of the opposition and AAP politician Atishi defended the previous Kejriwal-led administration, claiming that the study pointed out problems with the former excise policy, which the AAP had already brought to light before enacting a new one.
