Protests erupt in Balochistan over rising incidents of enforced disappearances and killings
Balochistan: According to the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, a number of protests are being held in Pakistani cities, including Naseerabad, Pasni, and Quetta, against the increase in extrajudicial executions and enforced disappearances committed by death squads supported by the Pakistani government.

A human rights organization called the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) posted the information on X.
The protests are being held in response to the ‘Pakistani State”s increasing genocide against the Baloch, according to BYC.
It revealed that a considerable number of individuals, including the relatives of those who had been forcibly disappeared, attended the protests, including women, children, and the elderly.
It mentioned how the relatives of the victims described their ongoing suffering and anguish in the face of an increase in target murders and fictitious contacts with those who are already gone. They also called for an end to widespread enforced disappearances, state-sponsored death squads, target murders, phony encounters, and military aggression.
BYC said that Mahrang Baloch, the organization’s main organizer, attended and spoke at the gathering in Quetta.
“Baloch Nation has continued its resistance in all weathers; it is not fate but the worst form of slavery,” she stated during the ceremony. The murderous state has given us five bullet-riddled remains of Baloch sons who were forcefully disappeared as we are sitting here protesting.
According to BYC, Baloch stressed the importance of helping the dads, mothers, sisters, and victim families who are fighting for their loved ones.
“We must work together to send a strong message to the state and its violent forces that the Baloch people are one and will never surrender in the face of their genocide,” she said. Noteworthy is the announcement by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee of a number of demonstrations against the targeted murders of Mehraj and Karim Baloch by death squads in Kech. According to the post’s conclusion, “Baloch nation is strongly protesting against this cyclic violence perpetuating the Baloch genocide.”
State persecution, enforced disappearances, and arbitrary executions of activists, academics, and citizens are only a few of the many problems facing Balochistan. Economic neglect plagues the area, which also lacks basic infrastructure, political sovereignty, and development.
